Snowshoe Rentals

Strap on a pair of today’s lightweight snowshoes and you’ll quickly see why snowshoeing has become one of the fastest growing winter sports. An incredible, fun, simple, and healthy way to access and enjoy the outdoors in wintertime! If you can walk, you can snowshoe! Great fun for the entire family!

Located less than 1 mile away, "Seven Springs Nature Preserve" is a 50 acre preserve set amongst hard woods and wooded wetlands on the shore of Burt Lake. Having 2 tiers, the upper trail traverses the hardwood forest and is about 0.5 miles long; the lower trail (less than 0.25 miles from the parking area) winds through the wetlands and leads to a platform overlooking Burt Lake. Wildlife species that can be seen include whitetail deer, red fox, coyote, raccoon, & porcupine. If you make your way through the preserve quietly, you may also run across a resident cottontail rabbit or snowshoe hare, wild turkey, or a pileated woodpecker. Be sure to keep your camera handy!

Burt Lake State Park, located directly across the street, also offers a beautiful snowshoe hike. This 1-mile wooded hiking trail winds its way through towering pines and along the Sturgeon River. At this time of year, the park is open to foot traffic only.
