School Field Trips

You and your students deserve a fun and exciting outdoor adventure!

Big Bear Adventures specializes in outdoor recreation with the emphasis on fun! With a variety of activities to offer, we have found our packages to be very popular among youth groups (several shorter activities tend to keep their attention and excitement satisfied!)

In 1999, we introduced our River Rafting Trips, which have been a huge hit with students, teachers, and chaperones alike! Our trips run on the very last part of the crystal-clear Sturgeon River, where it slows down and is an easier section, yet still exciting. We own the "Put-in" point (only 2 miles away & all paved roads), and our ending is in beautiful Burt Lake State Park! The Park offers over 2,000 feet of sandy beach (great for swimming and playing!), and a large, grassy day-use picnic area w/ playground equipment, under towering oak and pine trees. The Rafts promote teamwork and are nearly impossible to tip over – a real relief to chaperones and parents!

Located directly across from the State Park entrance in Indian River, we have a log cabin general store filled with snacks & goodies, a "SUBWAY" Restaurant, a picnic area, and don't miss our 8 foot tall World Record Alaskan Brown Bear! We also have some fun "interactive" attractions "TwinSpin" and "Water Wars"! In addition we offer a Ropes Challenge Course, Bumper Boats; Rock, Spin & Spray and 18-Hole Adventure Golf. Less than a mile away is the World's Largest Crucifix – "The Cross In the Woods", which welcomes groups free of charge. We also offer "Sumo Wrestling" and "Inflatable Bouncers" as an add-on option that must be arranged in advance. Ask for details.
