a bunch of different types of food

Whether you’re on the Indian River kayaking, white water rafting Michigan, or spending time hunting in the fall our charming Indian River restaurants during your Michigan vacations will not disappoint! At Big Bear Adventures we know that having a hearty meal is a must when you’re out spending time on the Sturgeon River Michigan or Indian River MI. Let’s face it; everyone has a different culinary flavor they love to indulge in, so we’ve come up with a small list of Indian River restaurants that will please every palate. These affordable eateries have generous portion sizes and are nearby your stay with Big Bear Adventures!

Italian: Vivio’s

Open the doors to a beautifully rustic cabin-style atmosphere at Vivio’s, the best Italian cuisine around! After a day of Big Bear rafting, head to Vivio’s for dinner and order a pizza or two as they are a show stopper here! Order Heidi’s Favorite— topped with oozing melted DOUBLE mozzarella cheese, fresh tomatoes, and savory bacon! From their many kinds of pasta to their American-style entree’s, Vivio’s has something for everyone! Their juicy tenderloin steak, creamy carbonara, tender pork chops, or an authentic Italian spaghetti, garlic and olive oil you can’t go wrong, as each dish is to-die-for! Vivio’s also offers fresh seafood such as whitefish, lake perch, shrimp and do we dare say it— frog legs! Located just minutes from Big Bear Adventures, Vivio’s is open for dinner and ready to serve!

American: Wilson’s River Edge

Having brunch should set you up for a successful day out exploring, whether you’re on the Indian River kayaking or river tubing in Michigan! Wilson’s River Edge is a cute ma’ and pa’ American-style restaurant that has a welcoming staff that will keep you coming back during your Michigan vacations. Sip on a fresh cup of joe while taking in the aroma of the homemade buttermilk blueberry pancakes, or cinnamon swirl french toast! With a wide variety of omelets, egg combinations, kids breakfast options, and much more this will be a quick stop before setting out on your day! Sometimes it’s hard to find a good Ruben, so stop back after rafting in Michigan as their Ruben is a local favorite! Wilson’s River Edge also has fresh homemade pie so don’t forget to grab a slice to go!

Dessert: Drost’s Chocolates

Attention sweet tooth junkies! Drost’s Chocolates is a hidden gem that has perfectly rich handmade chocolates and sweet treats in a charming, rustic atmosphere as the cherry on top! Most candy shops tend to have treats made by machines nowadays, but not Drost’s Chocolates, as each truffle, fudge, brittle and piece of candy are made with the love and care of the owners, Craig and Julie Waldron. Don’t shy away if there’s a line around the corner on a hot summer day, with over 24 flavors to choose from the ice cream, malts, and shakes will be worth the wait!
