EXCITING NORTHERN MICHIGAN VACATION IN FALL

a large tree surrounded by a body of water

For much of the year, the countryside is awash in a single hue: green or white. While summer and winter are incredibly fun seasons in their own respects, nothing quite beats the rainbow of color and pleasant weather of fall. That means the coming months are the perfect time for a northern Michigan vacation! Big Bear Adventures provides an endless supply of fall activities in Michigan, including the best ropes course Michigan has to offer. So come climb among the auburn trees and soak up the last rays of warm-weather sunshine.

Ropes Course Michigan Style

From the height of our ropes course, Michigan fall scenery is easy to see. If you visit after the leaves drop, you’ll have unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape. Our ropes course is open to people of all ages, but children must be at least 48 inches tall, and the weight limit is 300 pounds. The course is about 20 feet off the ground, but we provide a safety harness so that you can practice your moves without fear. It’s great fun and exercise—essentials for any northern Michigan vacation!

Northern Michigan Vacation Water Activities

Each year, people fall in love with our beautiful stretch of river. Luckily, it’s available whenever weather permits, so act fast to book a cruise on one of our catamarans. Floating along the river is one of the best fall activities in Michigan because you can watch the leaves form little boats alongside your own watercraft. Although you might not be keen on swimming in October, the absence of sweltering heat means you can paddle away comfortably, not sweatily.

Dry Things to Do in Northern Michigan

Big Bear Adventures is all about getting outdoors, and we’re happy to be located by several incredible hiking areas! Burt Lake State Park is just minutes away. It has beautiful walking trails at low difficulty levels, so it’s one of the best things to do in Michigan with kids. There’s even a sandy beach! Build a sandcastle, watch the boats zip by, and stroll through the park’s autumn air. If you’re looking for more adventure in Michigan and are open to a short drive, Gaylord State Forest Area is also close to Big Bear Adventures. This outdoor area has more hiking trails and a wide variety of trees for you to admire during your northern Michigan vacation.
