Looking for the perfect way to spend a hot, sunny afternoon in beautiful Northern Michigan? Adventure down the clear, refreshing Sturgeon River in a tube! Adventure Tubing on the Sturgeon is an exhilarating group experience that offers more than a leisurely float. Unlike a lazy river, you’ll navigate swift currents, dodge logs, and tackle natural obstacles, making it an exciting challenge for those with an adventurous spirit.

Note: This is NOT a lazy river—you’ll need to watch where you’re going, stay alert, paddle occasionally, and push away from logs and sticks. Tubing is best enjoyed on sunny days with temperatures of at least 70 degrees.

Please Note: Tubes go slower than all our other river adventures, so a 2 hr. Raft trip will take about 2.5 hours by Tube.

Trip Options

  • 1.5 Hour Trip: Great for first-timers and families.
  • 2.5 Hour Trip: Offers more excitement, suitable for groups and families with older kids.
  • End Point: Trips end at our designated ending point inside Burt Lake State Park across the street. Tubers carry their tubes on a short 4-minute walk back to Big Bear.

More Info

  • Age Requirement: Ages 6 and older only (no lap riders allowed).
  • Skill Requirement: Tubers must be comfortable and confident in, on, and around water. Please consider your/your group’s abilities.
  • Recommendations: We strongly recommend the short trip for families and Sturgeon River first-timers.
  • Safety: Life jackets are required for minors (17 years old and under) and non-swimmers.
  • You are responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged tubes.

Upgrades to DELUXE Tubes and Cooler Tubes are available!

  • Deluxe Tubes are built with Whitewater grade materials to withstand rougher river conditions and provide a more secure and stable ride with a bottom included. Opting for a Deluxe Tube for only a few dollars can elevate your river tubing experience, offering enhanced comfort and convenience for a more enjoyable trip!
  • Cooler Tube Sizes: 13″x20″ or 16″x27″
  • Subject to availability, you may select your Cooler Tube size upon arrival. Cooler Tube Prices are determined by the smaller size option. Please note that large, heavy coolers, as well as glass and Styrofoam containers of any kind, are not permitted. Any items you bring must be packed back into your bag or cooler after use.
